Le Colombier 2023, Appellation
Vacqueyras, ist ein trockener Rotwein der aus den Weintrauben alter Rebstöcke (Vieilles Vignes) vinifiziert wurde. Der Winzer Jean-Louis Mourre kelterte diesen Wein aus den Rebsorten Grenache Noir 80% und Mourvedre 20%. Um seine Fruchtigkeit zu bewahren wurde der Rotwein nur im Betontank ausgebaut und vor der Abfüllung in die Flasche lediglich leicht filtriert.
Der Colombier Vieilles Vignes 2010 aus Vacqueyras wurde vom amerikanischen Weinjournalisten Robert Parker in seiner Weinzeitschrift The Wine Advocate in Nr. 197 vom Oktober 2011 mit
90-92 Punkten bewertet und wie folgt beschrieben: "Made from vines over 60 years of age, the 2010 Vacqueyras Vieilles Vignes is a blend of 80% Grenache and 20% Syrah. Displaying outstanding potential, it possesses elegant berry fruit notes intermixed with pepper, sandy, loamy soil, and an undeniable minerality from the limestone soils in which the vines are planted. With deep raspberry and black cherry flavors, medium to full body, sweet tannin and decent acidity, this impressive effort should drink well for 10+ years."
Die Weinjournalistin Jancis Robinson veröffentlichte am 21.12.2011 die Bewertung
16,5 von 20 Punkten für das Cuvée Vieilles Vignes 2010 der Domaine Le Colombier aus Vacqueyras und folgende Beschreibung:
"Mid crimson. Unusually sweet and juicy. Bravo! Fine tannins underneath but vinified with the drinker in mind. Not the most intense but one of the friendliest."
Robert Parkers Beschreibung in The Wine Advocate Nr. 185 vom Oktober 2009 wie folgt:
"The 2007 Vacqueyras Vieilles Vignes comes from their oldest vines and is dominated by Grenache but has a very important Mourvedre component. Aged totally in concrete, the wine displays a similarly dense ruby/purple color, as well as loads of blueberry and blackberry fruit, with notes of creosote, graphite, and incense. The wine is powerful, pure, layered, and altogether a brilliant example of Vacqueyras that should drink nicely for 6-8 years. "
